Electronic Prescription Service
Pharmacy:
Your local pharmacist can now help with minor illness's - if you get your prescriptions free, please go along to your local pharmacist, they can help with a wide range of over the counter medicines.
We also offer the Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or "nominate" a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from.
Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you nominated. Please make sure that your pharmacy only orders the items that you require, all pharmacies have to telephone their patients to check what items they need - if this is not happening please get in touch.
This means:
If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription, saving time.
You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because they can be collected from a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
You may not have to wait as long as your repeat prescriptions could be prepared before you arrive.

We have a new service CPCS - this is a referral to the community pharmacy - If you don't pay for your prescriptions.
CPCS launched on 29th October 2019 as an Advanced Service and since 1st November 2020, general practices have been able to refer patients for a minor illness consultation via CPCS, once a local referral pathway had been agreed.
GP CPCS is a pathway that general practices can use to refer patients with minor illness or low acuity conditions to a community pharmacist. These patients can be referred electronically and can receive a consultation with a pharmacist (in the consultation room or remotely) where the pharmacist will clinically assess
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please then telephone the surgery and speak to reception who will then book you in for a medication review.
HELP US SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT GREENER INHALERS
Over 3000,000 inhalers are prescribed in Greater Manchester every month - that's equivalent to the emission from 28,000 cars. An increase in the use of greener inhalers will help to achieve our shared target of a net zero carbon footprint by 2038 - as set out in Greater Manchester's 5 year Environment Plan.
